About Us
The Alabama Academy of Ophthalmology (ALAO) is a trade association, located in Montgomery, AL, made up of ophthalmologists who are licensed and practicing throughout the state of Alabama.
As of September, 2009, there were approximately 225 active ophthalmologists in the State of Alabama.
The business of the Academy is conducted by a Board of Directors and Executive Director. Board meetings are held each quarter at various times/locations during the year. The Board elects a President, Vice-President, and Sec.-Treasurer to oversee its operations.
Regional Meetings are held every other year in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile.
